Welkom to "van de EGMATO".
 

Kennel van de Egmato is owned by famely van Veghel from Holland.

We are:

Egitte van Veghel & Willem van Loon (breeder of Japanese Akita kennel v/h Hof van Bloemendaal). And daughter Gianne.

We love to spent our sparetime with the dogs and for the dogs. So we try to breed all three breeds with the highest quality possible. We also import the best of breeds to improve the breedstock we have now and we will continue to do this.

I (Egitte) have had dogs all my live, was breeding dogs from my 16th. My main breed was Lhasa apso, I showed and breed these dogs for a period of 12 years. In the meantime I met my husband and we bought a Akita (a bigger dog to walk with, for my husband), and then i started to read about Japanese dogs wich started of my surch for the Shikoku. I was also into training dogs in my younger years and also became instuctor in dogtraining. Later on I was mainly busy with showtraining, wich I liked the most to teach. This all helped me a lot to trian my Shikoku's, because of a lot of experience from al these years.

After my deforce Willem came into my live, he is also a breeder for 20 years, first the Chow Chow, later on the Akita. Every day is a new day, and Shikoku's are certainly not robotlike dogs, They are busy every day, and they enjoy life, wich shows in their behavior. They love to learn new things, wich is very pleasant to work with. Also with childeren they are very gifted. Our daughter Gianne was 4 years old when we got Kekki, so she grew up with him as example. Through the years many Shikoku's followed, and they ajusted perfectly with our child.

We hope we may continue this wonderfull project with my family, and maybe lots of new friends who like to join our club, and reach out in a positive way towards the SHIKOKU.

Mr Yano helped us in 1996 with the foundation of the breeding's we do now and in the future. In 2009 he helped us again with some new imports.
